Upper Midwest Trail Runners is ready to kick off another great year of running trails, and being an awesome community of people who care about each other and the outdoors. The Board of Directors met in January and finalized our 2017 race series calendar, as well as addressed some exciting changes coming this year.
First, we’re going to utilize this website more often to share our updates. We have a plan to communicate with everyone at least once per month to let you know what’s going on in the various race series, and opportunities to volunteer in our community. Each post to the website will be shared to our Facebook group as well as our new Twitter and Instagram account, so you can follow us there as well!
Next, we’ve developed a new electronic form to submit your volunteer hours this year. Members will be receiving an email soon with the link to the form so that you can submit all the hours that you’re spending giving back to our community. As a club we give back, monetarily, to the trails that we love, but the gift of our time and talents is biggest impact we can have!
We’d also like to debut a new experiment this year, our new Google Photos Shared Album. This is a site where you can upload photos from trail runs and races and share them with others. Please remember that any photos you upload are shared with the world, so keep it clean. There’s also a chance we might feature your photo on our Instagram feed as well!
Finally, the website will be updating periodically over the next couple of months with new content, as well as details on upcoming UMTR Fatasses and how to put on your own fatass with UMTR’s help. We’re looking forward to a great year in 2017, and can’t wait to share more of what we have planned!
