Go Trail Magazine

February 28, 2012

One can never have too many trail running resources at his / her disposal, right? This free online publication was recently sent our way. Nicely produced, with some great articles. Technically, it is published out of South Africa, but covers a nice cross-section of trail running throughout the world – including North America. Some nice gear reviews, training and technique pieces as well. Enjoy!

Among the Wild Film Project – Know anyone wild enough?

February 28, 2012

Among the Wild is an independent film project that seeks to inspire greatness in outdoor adventurers everywhere! The four-part, short documentary series (15-20 minutes each) will profile four local athletes engaging in uniquely Minnesotan extreme sports, i.e. outdoor adventure sports.

Winners will be announced at a fundraiser in spring of 2012. Production on the film series will begin summer of 2012 and likely run through the end of 2013. The goal is to submit the short films to various film festivals around the nation and beyond. We also aim to work with local television networks to broadcast a hour-long … Continue Reading

It was part-way through the season so when I showed up for my first practice, the team was instructed to run eight miles with the possibility of using several shorter turnarounds. I didn’t want to look bad on my first day so I ran with the leaders. Eventually, no one but me and one 8th grade runner were left and we did the entire eight miles. That’s when I realized that I actually liked running.
